10/30-Breast Cancer

Nancy Sokolowski, RN, OCN, is a nationally recognized breast health specialist, with a 30-year career at Norwalk Hospital, the teaching affiliate of the Yale University School of Medicine. Nancy’s role as the co-founder of the hospital’s Smilow Family Breast Health Center and her pioneering role of “breast cancer navigator” assisting newly diagnosed breast cancer patients through myriad hospital services makes her uniquely positioned to write The Breast Cancer Companion. She is the recipient of the American Cancer Society's Star of Hope award, given for excellence in providing compassionate and skilled care for people facing cancer and her unyielding contribution to the cancer fight. She is past President of the American Cancer Society of Fairfield County Hospital Liaison, where she served on the Board of Directors. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, Division. She lives in Ridgefield, CT.
